Established in 1967 for the excellence of the candidate's publications and/or technical contributions in the field of electrochemical science and technology and/or solid state science and technology.
Presented: during the meeting of the Canada Section in odd-numbered years
Contents: amount determined by Executive Committee of Section (2/2/90, amt. set at $1,000 Cdn.)

Europe Section Alessandro Volta Medal | Rules
Established in 1998 to recognize excellence in electrochemistry and solid state science and technology research.
Presented: fall at an appropriate symposium or meeting in even years
Contents: silver medal and a check for $2,000
