Financial assistance
Many ECS divisions offer students, postdoctoral researchers, and young professionals travel grants to attend ECS biannual meetings. Applications, which are available online, must be received by February 28, 2021. Symposium organizers generally govern any additional limited financial assistance. To determine if additional funding is available, contact the organizers of the symposium in which you are presenting. For general travel grant questions, contact travelgrant@electrochem.org.
Publish your paper
ECS Transactions (ECST), ECS’s official conference proceedings publication, features full-text content of ECS meeting and ECS-sponsored meeting proceedings. A high-quality venue for authors and an excellent resource for researchers, ECST’s full papers and posters are reviewed to ensure that submissions meet generally accepted scientific standards. All accepted ECST paper authors are encouraged to submit their papers to the Society’s technical journals. Visit the ECST website for additional information, including overall guidelines, deadlines, instructions, a manuscript template, and more.
ADA Accessibility
Special accommodations for attendees living with disabilities are handled on an individual basis. If you require accomondations, contact meetings@electrochem.org immediately.
Permissions granted to ECS
ECS reserves the right to record any or all meeting-related events electronically. By registering for and/or attending an ECS meeting, you grant ECS permission to use any recording or photography of you at any meeting event or anywhere within the meeting venue.
Speaker indemnification
The ideas and opinions expressed in technical sessions, conferences, and handout materials are those of the presenter. They are not those of ECS, nor can any endorsement by ECS be claimed.
Photography and recording is not permitted in technical sessions
By attending an ECS meeting, you agree not to record any technical session activity without ECS’s express written consent. Violators of this policy are removed from the meeting and their registrations revoked without possibility of refunds.
Your Meeting Experience
Plan
The best way to come to the meeting feeling prepared? Plan in advance! Check the meeting homepage regularly for new and updated events and information.
Online program
Add the published online program to your smartphone’s home screen or bookmark it in your devices’ internet browsers. View, add, and sync presentations, sessions, and events to create your own custom itinerary.
Dress code
The attire for the conference is business casual. Session rooms can be cold, so dress in layers. Given the amount of walking you will do, wear comfortable shoes.
Gothenburg weather in October is chilly. Average temperatures range from 43-53°F (6°-12°C). Check the forecast and plan accordingly.
What to bring:
- Business Cards – With ample time to network, have plenty of cards to distribute.
- Day bag – Between early sessions and evening poster receptions, meeting days are long. Bring a backpack or briefcase to carry needed items, as there aren’t many opportunities to return to your hotel room.
- Reusable water bottle and coffee mug; go green!
- Notebook and pen – Make sure to have these on hand at all times.
