Abstract selection process
- Authors submit abstracts to be considered for presentation at an upcoming ECS meeting. Make all submissions electronically via the abstract website.
- Symposium Organizers evaluate all abstracts for content and relevance to the symposium topic after the submission deadline.
- Symposium Organizers schedule all accepted abstracts as either oral or poster presentations.
- Abstracts deemed unacceptable are either rejected or moved to a more appropriate symposium.
- Letters of Acceptance are sent to the accepted abstracts’ corresponding authors when all the accepted abstracts have been scheduled.
- All accepted abstracts are publicly available first through the meeting’s online technical program and then are ultimately published in the ECS Digital Library.
- Corrections cannot be made after abstracts are published.
Abstract submission process
Information required:
- Abstract title
- Abstract text – A maximum of 750 words is allowed.
- One (1) figure file – One image file containing figures/tables/equations can be uploaded. JPG is the only image format accepted. PNG images are not accepted.
- Corresponding author information – Full name, affiliation, address, phone number, and email address.
- Co-author information – All co-authors’ full names, affiliations, and email addresses.
Submission process
- Choose a symposium in which to present.
- Select either oral or poster presentation type.
- Confirm that all co-authors are aware of your submission.
- Consent to the ECS Copyright Release (revised September 2020).
- Note whether it is a student presentation.
- Enter all the abstract information (title/authors/text/image).
- Confirm all the submitted abstract’s final details.
The confirmation step MUST be completed, or the abstract will not be considered for presentation.
- NOTE: DO NOT submit the same abstract to two different symposia; each abstract may only be submitted to ONE (1) symposium. Duplicate abstracts are automatically removed, leaving only the original submission.
- Students: Abstracts MUST be submitted to the General Student Poster Session to be considered for General Student Poster Session Awards. Abstracts submitted to other symposia are not eligible for participation.
- Symposia with fewer than 12 submitted abstracts are combined with similar symposia. Therefore, abstracts may be moved from your originally selected symposium to a different symposium.
- Unconfirmed and incomplete submissions are removed from consideration automatically after the abstract submission deadline.
All abstract authors are encouraged to submit their papers to the Journal of The Electrochemical Society (JES), ECS Journal of Solid State Science and Technology (JSS), ECS Advances (ECSA), or ECS Sensors Plus (ECSP). Journal submissions must be made using the JES, JSS, ECSA, or ECSSP online submission system. ECS journals now offer open access. Learn more about ECS Author Choice Open Access.
ECSarXiv is a preprint service for the electrochemistry and solid state science and technology community. This free service is offered for preprints and other preliminary communications not yet published in peer-reviewed outlets. ECSarXiv is an excellent way to draw more attention to your meeting presentation or poster and provides a venue to share your work regardless of the format. Find out more or submit now!
