The Electrochemical Society will present the award at its spring meeting in Chicago
Pennington, NJ – (February 9, 2015) – Henry White will be awarded the 2015 Allen J. Bard Award at the 227th Electrochemical Society Meeting in Chicago, Illinois May 2015.
Salt Lake City local Henry White is a world leader in the field of electrochemistry, preforming pioneering research in energy storage and fundamental studies of reduction-oxidation reactions and electron-transfer reactions, and the structure of interfaces between metals and solutions.
Professor White worked under the legendary Allen J. Bard while obtaining his Ph.D. Since joining The Electrochemical Society in 1985, White has also been awarded the Society’s Carl Wagner Award (2010) and David Grahame Award (2005).
He currently holds the positions of Dean of the College of Science at the University of Utah. Here, he and his research team have made advances in new methods to determine the structure of biological polymers such as DNA, the development of novel batteries with increased storage capacity and investigations of drug delivery though human skin using electrical currents.
Professor White has published more than 250 peer-reviewed articles, chapters and patents.
