Society Awards
Carl Wagner Memorial Award
Established in 1980, this award recognizes mid-career achievement, excellence in research areas of interest of the Society, and significant contributions in the teaching or guidance of students or colleagues in education, industry, or government. Awardees receive a framed certificate; medal; USD$7,500; USD$1,000 in travel expenses; complimentary meeting registration; and lifetime ECS membership. Materials due October 1, 2022.
Olin Palladium Award
This award recognizes distinguished contributions to the field of electrochemical or corrosion science. The award consists of a medal; plaque; USD$7,500; complimentary meeting registration; and lifetime ECS membership. Materials due October 1, 2022.
Division Awards
Corrosion Division Herbert H. Uhlig Award
Excellence in corrosion research and outstanding technical contributions to the field of corrosion science and technology are recognized. The award is a framed certificate; USD$1,500; and discretionary travel assistance. Materials due December 15, 2022.
Corrosion Division Morris Cohen Graduate Student Award
Outstanding graduate research in the field of corrosion science and/or engineering is acknowledged. The award consists of a framed certificate and USD$1,000. Materials due December 15, 2022.
Corrosion Division Rusty Award for Mid-Career Excellence
This award recognizes a scientist or engineer’s mid-career achievements and contributions to the field of corrosion science and technology. The award consists of a framed certificate; USD$1,000; complimentary meeting registration; and up to USD$1,000 for travel expenses to attend the designated meeting. Materials due December 15, 2021.
Section Awards
Canada Section W. Lash Miller Award
Canada residents who completed their last advanced education degree no more than 15 years before the award year are recognized for publications and/or excellence in the field of electrochemical science and technology and/or solid state science and technology. They receive a CAD$1,000 prize. Nomination deadline is December 31, 2022.
Korea Section Student Award
The award recognizes academic accomplishments in any area of science or engineering in which electrochemical and/or solid state science and technology is the central consideration. Students receive a USD$500 prize. Nomination deadline is December 31, 2022.
