Society Awards
Henry B. Linford Award for Distinguished Teaching
ECS recognizes excellence in teaching in subject areas of interest to the Society through this award. Winners receive a silver medal and plaque with a bronze replica thereof; USD $2,500; complimentary ECS biannual meeting registration for the award recipient and companion; dinner honoring the recipient; and ECS Life Membership.

Vittorio de Nora Award in Electrochemical Engineering and Technology Award
Distinguished contributions to the field of electrochemical engineering and technology are acknowledged by this award. It consists of a gold medal; plaque with a bronze replica of the medal; USD $7,500; complimentary meeting registration for the award recipient and companion; dinner honoring the recipient; and ECS Life Membership.

Division Awards
Electrodeposition Division Early Career Investigator Award
The award recognizes outstanding early career research in the field of electrochemical deposition science and technology to enhance the winner’s stature and encourage especially promising researchers to remain active in the field. The awardee receives a framed certificate; USD $1,000; and complimentary meeting registration.

Electrodeposition Division Research Award
Outstanding research contributions to the electrodeposition field are recognized and the publication of high-quality papers in the Journal of The Electrochemical Society is encouraged. Award winners receive a framed certificate; USD $2,000; and complimentary meeting registration.

Energy Technology Division Walter van Schalkwijk Award for Sustainable Energy Technology
This award recognizes and rewards research scientists, academicians, and entrepreneurs who make innovative and transformative contributions to sustainable energy technologies (devices, materials, and/or processes). Recognized research innovations in lean manufacturing, responsible consumption, alternative energy, waste management, and/or reuse/recycling, contribute to sustainability goals such as pollution prevention, resource conservation, and waste reduction/minimization. The award consists of a framed certificate and monetary prize that is 1/25th of the endowment with a maximum amount of USD $2,500.

Student Awards
ECS General Student Poster Session Awards
These awards were established in 1993 to acknowledge quality and thoroughness in candidates’ work; the originality and independence of their contributions; significance and timeliness of research results; and depth of understanding of the research topics and their relationship to the Society’s fields of interest. Three awards are given for each Society biannual meeting. First place receives a USD $1,500 cash prize; second place, USD $1,000 cash prize; and third place, USD $500 cash prize. Awardees are also recognized with a certificate and announcement in Interface issues accompanying the respective meeting’s “Biannual Meeting Highlights” article. To be considered, students must submit an abstract to the General Student Poster Session by the biannual meeting abstract deadline.

ECS Outstanding Student Chapter Award
The award recognizes distinguished student chapters that demonstrate active participation in The Electrochemical Society’s technical activities; establish community and outreach activities in the areas of electrochemical and solid state science and engineering education; and create and maintain a robust membership base. The award consists of a recognition plaque; USD $1,000; and award recognition and chapter group photo in Interface or other electronic communications. Chapters of Excellence members receive mailed recognition certificates and acknowledgement in Interface.

Biannual Meeting Travel Grants
ECS divisions and sections award travel grants for each Society biannual meeting to undergraduates, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and young professionals and faculty presenting papers at ECS biannual meetings. The awards provide financial support ranging from complimentary meeting registration to luncheon/reception tickets, travel support, and more. Each division and section has its own application requirements.
