Symposium focus: In the high need for a diagnostics tool for analyzing and improving renewable and clean energy performance and durability, and accelerating their practical applications toward real world, this newly proposed symposium provides a forum for the discussion of the latest advancements in sensors and creative macro- micro- nano-level characterizations incorporating sensing capabilities research and development in the support of clean energy technologies.
Sensor systems of interest include, but are not limited to those used in batteries, fuel cells, water electrolyzers, CO2 conversion devices, ammonia production, etc. Some examples include H2 safety sensors, sensors that monitor battery state of health, and sensors that can improve the efficiency/durability of fuel cell and water electrolysis systems, etc. Researchers from industry, academia, and national laboratories are invited to participate. Papers on all sensing mechanisms (e.g., electrochemical, resistive/semiconductive, acoustic, optical, gravimetric, and thermal) that address novel materials, synthesis, device configuration, evaluation techniques and system design for these applications are welcome.
Publication type: Enhanced
Primary sponsoring division: Sensor
