Publish your presentation

All abstract authors are encouraged to submit their papers to the Journal of The Electrochemical Society (JES), ECS Journal of Solid State Science and Technology (JSS), ECS Advances (ECSA), or ECS Sensors Plus (ECSSP). There is no submission deadline, although six months is considered sufficient time to revise an abstract to meet stricter journal standards. Journal submissions must be made using the JES, JSS , ECSA, or ECSSP online submission systems. ECS journals now offer open access. Learn more about ECS Author Choice Open Access.

Financial assistance

Many ECS divisions offer students, postdoctoral researchers, and young professionals travel grants to attend ECS biannual meetings. Applications are available online. The deadline to submit a travel grant application is February 24, 2025.

Additional financial assistance is limited and generally administered by symposium organizers. To find out if additional funding is available, contact the organizers of the symposium in which you are presenting a paper. For general travel grant questions, contact travelgrant@electrochem.org.

ADA accessibility

Accommodations for attendees with disabilities are handled on an individual basis. Contact ECS headquarters at meetings@electrochem.org immediately if you require accommodations.

Permissions granted to ECS

ECS reserves the right to electronically record any and all meeting-related events. By registering for and/or attending an ECS meeting, you grant ECS permission to use any recording or photography made of you at any meeting event or anywhere within the meeting venue.

Speaker indemnification

The ideas and opinions expressed in the technical sessions, conferences, and handout materials are those of the presenter. They are not those of ECS, nor can any endorsement by ECS be claimed.

Photography and recording are not permitted in technical sessions

By attending an ECS meeting, you agree not to record any technical session activity without express written consent from ECS. Violators of this policy are removed from the meeting and their registrations revoked without possibility of refund.

Your Meeting Experience

Plan

The best way to prepare for the meeting? Plan in advance! Check the meeting homepage regularly for new and updated events and information.

Online Program

Once published, add the online program to the home screen of your smartphone or bookmark it in the internet browser on any of your devices. View, add, and sync presentations, sessions, and events to create your own custom itinerary.

Dress code

Conference attire is “business casual.” Session rooms can be cold, so dress in layers. Given the amount of walking required, wear comfortable walking shoes.

Montréal’s weather is dry and cool in May with average temperatures ranging from 56-66°F (13°-18°C). Check the forecast and plan accordingly.

What to bring
  • Business Cards – With ample time to network, have plenty of cards ready to distribute.
  • Day bag – Between early sessions and evening poster presentations, meeting days are long. Bring a backpack or briefcase to carry items you need as there are few opportunities to return to your hotel room during the day.
  • Reusable water bottle and coffee mug – Go green!
  • Notebook and pen – While it may sound obvious, always have these on hand.
Who to ask

ECS Staff members are easy to identify. Look for our signature polos with ECS logos and nametags with “Staff” ribbons. We are happy to answer your questions or listen to feedback. Contact meetings@electrochem.org with questions or concerns before the meeting.

Travel resources

To request an ECS Letter of Invitation on ECS letterhead, fill out the official “Visa Letter Request Form.” When you receive your Letter of Invitation, take it to the nearest consulate or embassy to begin the visa application process. The ECS Letter of Invitation does not constitute a visa application; ECS cannot guarantee that it enables you to obtain a visa.

Letters of Attendance

To receive an official letter of attendance, go to the “Letters of Attendance” self-help computer in the onsite registration area. Once you complete the form, the letter is emailed to you within two weeks of the meeting’s end.
