The Journal of The Electrochemical Society (JES) welcomes nominations for the role of Technical Editor in the topical interest area of Physical and Analytical Electrochemistry, Electrocatalysis, and Photoelectrochemistry (PAE). This vital editorial role is integral to maintaining the journal’s high standards of scientific excellence and ensuring the success of its publication efforts.
Scope of the role
The nominee should possess demonstrated expertise and scientific knowledge within the scope of Physical and Analytical Electrochemistry, Electrocatalysis, and Photoelectrochemistry. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

Fundamental aspects of interfacial science and electroanalytical chemistry;

Double layer theory and related experimental studies;

Theoretical and experimental aspects of electrocatalysis;

In situ spectroscopy techniques;

Photoelectrochemical cells and their applications;

Scanning probe methods;
-
Advanced x-ray and electron microscopy methods;
-
Novel electrochemical measurement techniques and developments in theory.
Responsibilities
The Technical Editor is responsible for overseeing the success of the PAE topical interest area within JES, ensuring the highest quality of published content and efficient peer-review processes. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Maintaining the quality and relevance of the content published in the journal;

Ensuring timely and effective peer-review processing;

Contributing to the achievement of key journal metrics, including impact factor and submission growth;

Collaborating with the Editorial Board, related ECS division, and ECS Publications Subcommittee to maintain the ethical standards of the journal and The Electrochemical Society (ECS).
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a recognized international reputation within the field; demonstrates technical expertise and leadership in the topical interest area; possesses a strong track record of research and publication in relevant topics.
The ideal candidate is free of conflicts of interest; exhibits creativity, capacity, motivation, and dedication to furthering the advancement of electrochemical science and the ECS mission; has a thorough understanding of ECS’s ethical guidelines and the broader scholarly publication landscape.

Official nominations (self nominations are encouraged) must include a curriculum vitae (CV), brief statement of the candidate’s qualifications and their vision for the role, as well as a headshot image (300 dpi high resolution only).
