The Electrochemical Society (ECS) named 15 new members to the 2022 Class of ECS Fellows. The designation “Fellow of The Electrochemical Society” was established in 1989 for advanced individual technological contributions to the fields of electrochemistry and solid state science and technology, and for service to the Society. Fellows are recognized for scientific achievements, leadership, and active participation in the affairs of ECS. Each year, their peers choose up to 15 renowned scientists and engineers for this honor. (more…)

ECS seeks to fill two Technical Editor positions in the Sensors Technical Interest Area (TIA). The first serves the wide range of sensors topics for ECS Sensors Plus. The second covers sensors topics for the Journal of The Electrochemical Society and ECS Journal of Solid State Science and Technology.

Nominees for these positions must possess and maintain scientific knowledge of the scope of the sensors topical interest area. Technical Editors are appointed for a minimum initial two-year term, renewable for additional terms, up to a maximum of 12 total years of service in this role. (more…)

The ECS Detroit Section held its 2022 Officer Election from May 13-June 3, 2022. Thank you to all ECS members who supported their regional community by voting, and to the new officers for serving their section.

The new officers’ terms of office are for two years or until their successors have been qualified. Their terms begin at 0800h ET on January 1 of the calendar year following the election.

This post serves as notice that the Executive Committee and Members at Large of the ECS Nanocarbons Division have proposed amendments to their division bylaws. Per the ECS Nanocarbons Division’s existing bylaws, amendments must be passed by favorable vote of two-thirds of those replying within two (2) months to a ballot sent to all members of the ECS Nanocarbons Division. If approved by the division, the proposed changes advance to the ECS Board of Directors for final approval.
