2020 ECS Battery Division Awards

The Electrochemical Society (ECS) Battery Division is accepting nominations for four awards: the Battery Division Research Award, Technology Award, Postdoctoral Associate Research Award, and Student Research Award. The award winners are recognized at PRiME 2020 in Honolulu, Hawaii, from October 4-9, 2020.

Battery Division Research Award: established in 1958 to encourage excellence in battery and fuel cell research, and to encourage publication in ECS journals. The winner receives a framed certificate; a $2,000 prize; and ECS Battery Division membership for as long as the recipient maintains Society membership.

Battery Division Technology Award: established in 1993 to encourage the development of battery and fuel cell technology, and to recognize significant achievements in this area. The winner receives a scroll; a $2,000 prize; and ECS Battery Division membership for as long as the recipient maintains Society membership.

Battery Division Postdoctoral Associate Research Award sponsored by MTI Corporation and the Jiang Family Foundation: established in 2016 to encourage excellence among postdoctoral researchers in battery and fuel cell research. Two award winners will each receive a scroll; a $2,000 prize; and complimentary meeting registration at the designated meeting.

Battery Division Student Research Award sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Research & Development: established in 1979 to recognize promising young engineers and scientists in the field of electrochemical power sources. The award consists of a scroll; a $1,000 prize; complimentary student meeting registration; and travel expenses of up to $1,000 to facilitate meeting attendance.

The ECS honors and awards program promotes technical achievements in electrochemistry and solid state science and technology. The program also recognizes exceptional service to the Society. Recognition opportunities exist in the following categories: Society awards, division awards and section awards.
