Symposium: A02 – Research and Development of Primary and Secondary Batteries: In Honor of George Blomgren

Symposium focus: This symposium honors the life-time contribution to advanced battery technology and development of George Blomgren—a key figure in developing an industry-leading battery for high power applications such as power tools. His four-decade career as a Senior Technology Fellow with Union Carbide (now Eveready Battery Company, Inc.) is highlighted along with his contributions in electrolyte solutions to enable liquid cathode primary batteries; sulfide cathodes in lithium iron disulfide batteries; and over the last two-decades, his advocacy promoting energy storage systems using lithium ion batteries.
To celebrate Dr. Blomgren’s devotion and contribution to this field, we welcome all topics in battery research and development. Many renowned colleagues and friends are invited speakers. We look forward to your participation and contribution in submitting abstracts to this symposium.
