The in-person fifth Organic Battery Days (OBD) 2022 Workshop continues a series of OBD events that started in Uppsala, Sweden, in 2017. This is the first time the OBD Workshop takes place in the United States! Building on the success of previous meetings, this year’s in-person event aims to strengthen communication and cooperation among experts from academic organizations, research institutes, and manufacturing companies, as well as to exchange knowledge and experience on the most recent developments in the field of organic batteries. Centennial Celebration Logo Design

This year, ELDP marks 100 years since its founding with a Centennial Celebration. The Early Career Forum invites all ELDP division members to submit designs for a “100 years of the Electrodeposition Division Logo.” The division’s Executive Committee will review submissions and choose the best idea. The logo will feature prominently in all ELDP symposia at the 242nd ECS Meeting in Atlanta, GA, from October 9-13, 2022.

If you have a good idea:

  • Submit your logo design via email to Dr-Ing. René Böttcher (rene.boettcher@tu-ilmenau.de)
  • Submission file format: EPS or PNG (300 dpi resolution)
  • Submission deadline is August 31, 2022

The Electrochemical Society (ECS) named 15 new members to the 2022 Class of ECS Fellows. The designation “Fellow of The Electrochemical Society” was established in 1989 for advanced individual technological contributions to the fields of electrochemistry and solid state science and technology, and for service to the Society. Fellows are recognized for scientific achievements, leadership, and active participation in the affairs of ECS. Each year, their peers choose up to 15 renowned scientists and engineers for this honor. (more…)

The Society and ECS Pacific Northwest Section hosted the June 28 webinar, “Pressurized Steam Electrolysis and A VYZion for Sustainable E-Fuels.” This timely presentation covered:

  • Pressurized operation of solid oxide cells, trade-offs in performance and economics;
  • EIS testing of vanadia-doped zirconia electrodes;
  • Testing facilities available for collaboration at Washington State University.
