The Electrochemical Society (ECS) is seeking candidates to serve as Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of ECS Advances (the Journal)

ECS Advances is a multidisciplinary, gold open-access journal that provides an international platform for the publication of high-quality impactful articles, and promotes scholarly communication and interaction among scientists, engineers, and technologists in the fields of electrochemistry, solid state science, and intersecting topics.

Henry B. Linford Award for Distinguished Teaching
ECS recognizes excellence in teaching in subject areas of interest to the Society through this award. Winners receive a silver medal and plaque with a bronze replica thereof; USD $2,500; complimentary ECS biannual meeting registration for the award recipient and companion; dinner honoring the recipient; and ECS Life Membership.

Vittorio de Nora Award

Vittorio de Nora Award in Electrochemical Engineering and Technology Award
Distinguished contributions to the field of electrochemical engineering and technology are acknowledged by this award. It consists of a gold medal; plaque with a bronze replica of the medal; USD $7,500; complimentary meeting registration for the award recipient and companion; dinner honoring the recipient; and ECS Life Membership.

John B. GoodenoughThe Electrochemical Society is now accepting nominations for the newly established John B. Goodenough Award of The Electrochemical Society

The Society announced the creation of the new biannual award at Nobel laureate and longtime ECS member John B. Goodenough’s 100th Birthday Celebration on July 25, 2022. The award recognizes distinguished and outstanding contributions in:

  • Fundamental and technological aspects of electrochemical materials science and engineering;
  • Materials innovations in the areas of batteries, solid ion conductors, fuel cells, transition-metal oxides, and/or magnetic materials.

Dr. Ahok Vijh

The ECS Canada Section is now accepting nominations for the Canada Section Electrochemical Award, established in 1981 to recognize significant contributions to the advancement of electrochemistry in Canada. The recipient’s achievements are recognized with a gold medal at the section’s 2022 annual meeting.

This award is conferred every four years. Ashok Vijh, a distinguished scientist and founding member of the Hydro-Québec Institute of Research, received the last award in 2018.

The Electrochemical Society (ECS) is seeking candidates to serve as the founding Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of ECS Sensors Plus, a journal in the process of being launched in 2021.

ECS Sensors Plus is a multidisciplinary, open access journal that provides an international platform to publish high-quality impactful articles and promote scholarly communication and interactions among scientists, engineers, and technologists whose primary interests are focused on mechanisms, materials, structures, properties, performance, and characterization of sensing and detection devices and systems, including sensor arrays, networks, and actuators. The goal of ECS Sensors Plus, as a one-stop shop journal for sensors, is to advance the fundamental science and understanding of sensors and detection technologies for efficient monitoring and control of industrial processes and the environment, and improving quality of life and human health.

The Henry B. Linford Award for Distinguished Teaching was established in 1981 for excellence in teaching in subject areas of interest to The Electrochemical Society.

The award consists of a silver medal and plaque with a bronze replica, both bearing the recipient’s name. Recipients also receive US $2,500; complimentary meeting registration for the award recipient and a companion; a dinner held in the recipient’s honor during the designated meeting; and Life Membership in the Society. The award is presented at a designated Society meeting. At that meeting, the winner is asked to deliver an address on a subject related to the contributions for which the award is presented. (more…)
