The following are the biographies and statements of the candidates nominated for the annual ECS officers’ election, which takes place from January 15 through March 15, 2023.
Voting for the new ECS Society Officers begins on January 13, 2023. We encourage all ECS members to exercise their right to vote.

The early months of each year are an exciting time at ECS as officer elections take place during the months of January through March. Elected officers constitute the organization’s executive committee and include the following positions: president, three vice presidents, secretary, and treasurer.
We vote for the new President, Third Vice President, and Treasurer in this election.
The following are biographical sketches and candidacy statements for all candidates.
Biographical sketches and statements follow for the candidates nominated for the position of ECS Energy Technology Division (ETD) Treasurer. ECS division officers serve as volunteers. We urge all ECS Energy Technology Division members to take part in this important election!
Voting is open from April 1 through April 29.
The 2021 Society election is the first opportunity for ECS student members to help choose the new ECS President and 3d Vice President. As previously reported, the Individual Membership Committee submitted a proposal to the Board of Directors to grant student members full voting rights. The proposal was approved by the Board of Directors in May 2020.
ECS President, Stefan de Gendt, says, “Students and early career professionals are vital to the health and long-term sustainability of the Society. By providing these critical members the right to vote we give them a voice and the ability to directly participate in the governance of the Society.” (more…)
