The winner receives a US $500 prize. Dr. Ham joins a distinguished list of ECS Korea Section Student Award winners.
Ik Seon Kwon, a PhD student at Korea University, South Korea, is the recipient of the 2021 ECS Korea Section Student Award. The award recognizes a Korean University PhD student for their academic accomplishments in any area of science or engineering in which electrochemical and/or solid state science and technology is the central consideration.
The section established the award, which is bestowed annually, in 2005. The winner receives a $500 USD prize which is awarded at an ECS Korea Section meeting. The award recipient may be asked to speak at that meeting on a subject of major interest to him/her in the field of electrochemical and/or solid state science and technology. (more…)
Minkyu Kim is the 2019 winner of the ECS Korea Section Student AwardThe ECS Korea Section Student Award was established in 2005 to recognize academic accomplishments in any area of science or engineering in which electrochemical and/or solid state science and technology is the central consideration. To qualify for this award, applicants must (1) be a student who is pursuing a PhD at a Korean University, (2) be nominated by a university faculty member and (3) be a member of ECS at the time of the nomination. ECS recognizes outstanding technical achievements in electrochemistry and solid-state science and technology through its Honors & Awards Program. There are many deserving members of the Korea Section among us and this is an opportunity to highlight their contributions.
We are currently accepting nominations for the following award:
Korea Section Student Award was established in 2005 to recognize academic accomplishments in any area of science or engineering in which electrochemical and/or solid state science and technology is the central consideration. The award is intended to encourage students who are pursuing a PhD at a Korean university to initiate or continue careers in the field.
Opening of the ECS Korea Section-KIST Joint Symposium on Electrochemical CO2 Conversion in Gwangju, South Korea.
The Korea Section Symposium (Organizers: Prof. Yung-Eun Sung, Prof. Soo-Kil Kim and Dr. Byoung Koun Min) was held on April 2, 2015 at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju, Korea.
This year, the event was held as a Joint Symposium with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, with the title “ECS Korea Section-KIST Joint Symposium on Electrochemical CO2 Conversion.” It was composed of seven talks on electrocatalysts and systems for electrochemical reduction of CO2.
