A novel near-neutral Fe-Cr redox flow battery system, the IMABATTERY® system, has been successfully developed at Cougar Creek Technologies, LLC. This system largely reduces the corrosivity of the conventional flow battery electrolyte and allows for wide applications of this system with minimal environmental impact, especially for residential users and small-scale commercial and industrial users. For MWh+ projects, the CAPEX for this system is <$10/kWh and the OPEX is <$0.01/kWh at a 100MWh production scale. |
