In light of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the 237th Meeting of the Electrochemical Society (ECS) in Montreal, Canada from May 10-14, 2020, has been cancelled.
The 18th International Meeting on Chemical Sensors is now scheduled for May 30-June 3, 2021, at the Hilton Chicago, Chicago, IL. It will be co-located with the 239th ECS Meeting.
Please take a moment to review the very important information below. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available:
REGISTRATION REFUNDS
Anyone who has registered for the 237th ECS or 18th IMCS meetings will automatically be given a 100% refund. Please be aware that it may take up to 30 days or more for this credit to be processed. Contact customerservice@electrochem.org if you have any questions or concerns.
HOTEL REFUNDS
All of the ECS partner hotels in Montreal (Embassy Suites, Holiday Inn, InterContinental, Le Westin, and Hotel Dauphin) have agreed to refund any hotel reservations made through the official ECS/IMCS reservation links.
- For the InterContinental and Le Westin, you will be receiving a cancellation confirmation email directly from the hotel.
- For the Embassy Suites, Holiday Inn, and Hotel Dauphin, anyone who would like to cancel their hotel reservation will need to contact the individual hotel to arrange for this directly.
If you made your reservation outside of the ECS/IMCS links, contact the hotel directly to inquire about a possible refund. Please contact meetings@electrochem.org if you have any questions or concerns.
FLIGHTS
Unfortunately, ECS has no arrangement with individual airlines or control over their refund policies. Please check with your respective carrier for their specific refund policy.
MEETING ABSTRACTS
Following their publication in the online meeting program, all ECS and IMCS abstracts will be published as planned in the ECS Digital Library. Friday, April 3 was the deadline to withdraw abstracts. For additional assistance, please contact abstracts@electrochem.org.
PROCEEDINGS PUBLICATION
All six issues of ECS Transactions in production will be published as planned no later than May 1, 2020. If you have pre-ordered an issue in production, ECS staff will be in contact with you regarding the distribution of your content ordered. Once published, all issues will be made available for PDF full-issue purchase from the ECS Online Store or individual article download from the ECS Digital Library on IOPscience.
In addition to issues in production, the Society will now publish a special issue of selected proceedings from the 237th ECS Meeting as an alternative option for authors to share research related to their planned technical presentation. JES FOCUS ISSUE ON IMCS 2020
ECS will publish the JES Focus Issue on IMCS 2020 with the organizers of the International Meeting on Chemical Sensors (IMCS) as planned. Volume one is a collection of papers IMCS accepted. Submit papers for this focus issue starting on May 4, 2020. Volume two opens for papers in 2021 when the meeting—co-located with the 239th ECS Meeting at the Hilton Chicago from May 30-June 3, 2021—takes place. SPONSOR AND EXHIBITOR REFUNDS
All sponsors and exhibitors of the 237th ECS or 18th IMCS Meetings will be given a 100% refund upon request. Exhibitors and sponsors may also transfer their sponsorship fees to participate in PRiME 2020. ECS will not be able to transfer any exhibit or sponsors fees for meetings after PRiME 2020.
