ECS Pacific Northwest Section Electrochemistry Research Award

The ECS Pacific Northwest Section Electrochemistry Research Award Sponsored by Gamry Instruments was established in 2021 to recognize excellence in electrochemistry and solid state science and technology research. It is based on outstanding achievements in either electrochemical science or solid state science and technology and acknowledges the excellence of the candidate’s publications and/or technical contributions to these fields.

Eligibility criteria

Nominee is:

  • Independent scientist or engineer working in Washington, Oregon or Idaho in the fields of electrochemical science and technology and/or solid state science;
  • ECS member;
  • Candidate must be nominated;
  • Self nominations are encouraged.
Nomination guidelines

A complete nomination packet includes:

  • Completed electronic Award Nomination Form;
  • Curriculum vitae listing publications and work experience;
  • Brief outline of accomplished research as well as contributions to the activities of The Electrochemical Society and the ECS Pacific Northwest Section;
  • Letter of recommendation is not required.
Award

The award consists of:

  • Certificate;
  • USD $1,000.

The award is presented at an ECS Pacific Northwest Section meeting.

Recipient obligations

The recipient: 

  • May be asked to speak at the ECS Pacific Northwest Section meeting where the award is presented, on a subject of major interest to them in the field of electrochemical science and technology and/or solid state science and technology;
  • Is expected to submit at least one paper to the Journal of The Electrochemical Society;
  • Must attend at least one ECS meeting;
  • Must present their work in the three years following receiving the award.
