Abstract selection process
- Authors submit abstracts to be considered for presentation at SOFC. Make all submissions electronically via the abstract website.
- After the submission deadline, Symposium Organizers evaluate all abstracts for content and relevance to the symposium topic.
- Symposium Organizers schedule all accepted abstracts as either oral or poster presentations.
- Abstracts found unacceptable are either rejected or moved to a more appropriate symposium.
- Once all abstracts are scheduled, Letters of Acceptance are sent to the accepted abstracts’ corresponding authors.
- All accepted abstracts are published in the ECS Digital Library.
(Corrections cannot be made after abstracts are published.)
Extended abstract submission process
This information is required:
- Abstract title
- Abstract text – A maximum of 2,000 words is allowed.
- Up to two (2) figure files – You may upload up to two image files containing any necessary figures/tables/equations. (JPG is the only image format accepted. PNG images are not accepted.)
- Corresponding author information – Full name, affiliation, address, phone number, and email address.
- Co-author information – All co-authors’ full name(s), affiliation(s), and email address(es).
Submission process:
- Choose the symposium in which to present.
- Select either oral or poster presentation type.
- Confirm that all co-authors are aware of your submission.
- Consent to the ECS Copyright Release (Revised September 2020).
- Note whether it is a student presentation.
- Enter all abstract information (title/author(s)/text/image).
- Submit any additional abstract information.
The confirmation step must be completed, or the abstract will not be considered for presentation.
Final notes:
- DO NOT submit the same abstract to two different symposia; each abstract may only be submitted to ONE (1) symposium. Duplicate abstracts are automatically removed, leaving only the first submission.
- Unconfirmed and incomplete submissions are automatically removed from consideration after the abstract submission deadline.
As ECS has discontinued ECS Transactions, to capture all symposia content, SOFC is transitioning to extended abstracts that are available before the conference. Authors of the best papers are encouraged to submit to ECS Journals after the conference.
All authors of accepted meeting abstracts are encouraged to submit their papers to the Journal of The Electrochemical Society, ECS Journal of Solid State Science and Technology, ECS Advances, or ECS Sensors Plus. Journal submissions must be made using the online submission system (JES | JSS| ESCA | ECSSP). ECS journals now offer open access. Learn more about Author Choice Open Access at ECS!
ECS launched ECSarXiv, a preprint service for the electrochemistry and solid state science and technology community. This free service is for preprints and other preliminary communications that are not yet published in peer-reviewed outlets. ECSarXiv is an excellent way to draw more attention to your meeting presentation or poster and provides a venue to share your work, no matter what the format. Find out more or submit now!
