Urgent Notice: Beware of Housing Pirates
Organizations commonly referred to as “housing pirates” (such as Expo Key, Travel Booking Solutions, Hotel Booking Consulting, CBS International Travel, Global Housing, Golden Pass LLC, and Elite Housing Services) may contact you regarding hotel reservations for SOFC or ECS events. A housing pirate is a company or individual that falsely represents themself as an official housing provider for an SOFC or ECS event and often solicits exhibitors and attendees to book accommodations through them at inflated rates or with hidden fees. These housing pirates may tell you that an ECS or SOFC employee told them to call you or that they can get cheaper hotel rates. Be advised, these are all scams and companies like this are in no way affiliated with SOFC or ECS .
No one should ever email or call you on behalf of SOFC or ECS to book your hotel room. Companies that offer you a promotional/savings code for hotel reservations are not affiliated in any way with SOFC or ECS as neither offer promotional/savings codes for hotel reservations.
Only the SOFC website has the official housing information, so it is best to book your room for any SOFC Meeting directly through the SOFC event website. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at meetings@electrochem.org.
