Postdoctoral Appointee: Corrosion

A postdoctoral corrosion scientist is needed to perform a range of R&D duties including: (1) developing experimental measurements and analysis techniques to identify atmospheric corrosion mechanisms and their kinetics in support of materials reliability work and corrosion modeling efforts; (2) performing research in the area of localized corrosion initiation and propagation in order to improve our fundamental understanding of these processes; and (3) participating in failure analysis, process evaluation, and materials selection activities to identify engineering solutions to materials degradation issues.

Graduate Student Position

Specifically, graduate students working on these projects will 1) synthesize nanoparticle electrocatalysts for electrochemical conversion of biomass to industrial chemicals; 2) perform electrochemical experiments to elucidate the mechanism governing biomass conversion; 3) analyze product streams.
